Having just watched my freestyle I realize I could have definitely done more, if I had only written down some other maneuvres to do instead of just winging it again like I did at mk grass roots. You soon forget everything when your being judged and watched by about 40 people.

I would be interested in seeing my sets if you would be so kind. I would like to see what all the fuss was about. Lol.

Also a massive thank you again for standing out with your camera all afternoon, its very much appreciated.

    Many thanks.
    Ian Mercer.

Thanks, 700e is ballistic. The main difference is beast x. I had the std orange beast on the nitro which I set up. It felt horrible! The E has the new 7200bx set up by jace and it feels great so I have got to get used to that lol.
So anyone who thinks beast x is naff get Jason of UBF to have a look then make your decision.

Thanks Andy, it's the first time I've 'seen' my freestyle flight and I can now see what the judges were on about with the repetitions.

Great videos Certainly food for thought there for the level of flying I need to achieve for next years Grass Roots comps.

One thing I would consider doing is going to and flying at fun flys as you wouldn't believe how nervous you get flying in front of essentially strangers. I'm not sure what was shaking more, my knees or my thumbs, during my flights and while the nerves would have still been there, to some degree, I'm sure I wouldn't have forgotten the moves that I've practiced in my freestyle flight like I did, if I'd done some fun flys beforehand.

Totally agree It's a bit of a trek for me to get to the UK and fly unfortunately, plus the cost is ridiculous. I've paid just over £200 to get the boat over with my car for the RCHA fly-in. Which is actually quite cheap for over here. Plus hotels, fuel, food etc it is going to cost a small fortune.

I fly as often as I can, currently trying to fly at least once a day with all my packs, but with the weather it's difficult. There is a flying 'event' here this weekend that I'm going to attend, which should give me a nice grounding on flying in front of strangers, but we'll see. i get quite nervous just flying in front of a few people, nevermind a whole crowd!

I want to get over to fly there as much as possible. I want to pick up lots of flying tips, get a good understanding of the format of these events and hopefully do well!

Know what you mean. I get nervous flying at the RCHA flyin and I've met most people there a few times!

Just watched my sets, I can see where I went wrong. Cheers Andy it's really helped me. Watched the freestyle too, just call me Mr Outside loop to inverted circuit Didn't think I had done it twice never mind more than that. My club chuckabout flying is better than that. I'd decided to call an end to my competition flying but you know what after watching that I'm not going to because although nervous I thought there was a good element of control in my flying and I think with a bit of practice with my caller things would have been a lot better.

Baz didn't know until Saturday that he was calling for me so cheers mate, practice with you next time will help

Looks like I'm not alone in finding what could be changed, when you see the judges eye view

I'm going to have to get a headcam sorted so I can video my flights in the future, then at least I can see where I'm going wrong or could slightly change things

Thanks Bob. Yes, and the windscreen is a massive furry thing. I also had the input level turned down reasonably low.
