3D Masters 2005 will be run over three days, 22nd, 23rd and 24th July 2005.
The competition is pre-entry only and will be divided into three classes, Masters, Expert & Sportsman. It is intended that the Sportsmans (or Novices) Class be an entry-level contest for 3D Masters, while the Expert Class is intended for experienced and Sponsored 3D Pilots. The Masters Class will be Invitational only and will apply to World Class Competitors. The Organisers reserve the right to remove an overqualified pilot from a Class.
Entries will only be accepted on the official 3D Masters 2005 Entry Form, which will be available on this site during January 2005.
The winners of Sportsman and Expert Class 2004 will be promoted to the class above. The 2nd and 3rd place men have the option to move up or remain in their 2004 class.
Sportsmans Class will fly 3 rounds, Set Manoeuvres, Freestyle and Own Flight to Music.
Masters and Experts Class will fly four rounds, Set Manoeuvres, Freestyle , Set Flight to Music and Own Flight to Music.
The first rounds of Set Manoeuvres will be held on Friday 22nd July, while Set Flight to Music and Freestyle will be held on Saturday 23rd July. Own Flight to Music will be held on Sunday morning 24th July. The top 5 competitors in each class will decide final placings on Sunday afternoon in a fly-off of Set Manoeuvres and Freestyle, Flights to Music being carried forward. Practice facilities on the Competition Field will be available 09:00 - 12:00 on Friday 22nd July.
On-site accommodation in fully-equipped Student rooms will be available for booking from January 2005, from Wednesday 20th July to Sunday 24th July inclusive. The chosen site has a Bar, BBQ area, and a Practice Field where further practice, demonstration flights and Night Flying will take place on both the Friday and Saturday evenings.
Scoring for each class will be carried out by a panel of respected judges from the field of 3D flying.
Invitational - the Masters category is Invitational for World Class pilots, BUT WE NEED TO KNOW WHO TO INVITE. You should apply to be considered - use the Contact Us form (or have your sponsor do it on your behalf) to pre-apply. We welcome pilots from all over the World and look forward to hearing from you.
