  • Flying to music - Air comp

So who has tried this for the first time this week I have.

Lol it's blooming hard, first time nearly stuffed it, it's kinda like that rubbing your stomach and patting your head thing, done it a few times now so feeling better about it, just got to try and make em match up next, any of you experts got any tips for making it easier?

Lol loving this it's certainly a new challenge, so it's got to make us better flyers in the long run
    All the best
    Tony.

Ive tried it and your right its hard, i found my concentration was split between the flying and the music which didnt do my flying any good lol. Im sure it'll get better with practice though. But entering this comp has already made a huge difference to my flying, I seem to be pushing harder than ever and am getting away with it so far lol. Confidence levels are soaring!

Listen to the music on your head and imagin the move you want to do then just practice that move.
Break things down as the whole thing is just too daunting .

Oh and don't bother with "smack my bi**h up " music that equals a spectacular crash lol

Most of Kasabian's traks could be used. I always fly a routine in my head whenever they're on the radio. I prefere a choreagraphed flight to music (the right way) rather than selecting tracks to work with certain parts of a flight.

My first time to music as well this weekend. I had some very interesting moments trying to get the Heli to do things.

The comp is going to be fun, I can foresee carnage.

I've genuinely no idea what I'm going to fly to; I keep listening to the radio for inspiration, but it hasn't hasn't been forthcoming yet!

My advice here would be pick a track you REALLY like. If you are into rock then pick a rock track.

An example I like Foo Fighters, Green Day and then older stuff like Genisis, etc. I then look for a track that isn't so fast it's impossible to fly to and preferably one that has some light and shade. Go for that.

Above all, make it a band and a song you really like and know well, don't be ashamed, after all Sesame(Tony) is a closet "Nolans" fan

Mattie and I are going to put something together next week to explain how the flights will be judged. It's not ALL how you sync with the music so don't worry!!
