  • Indoor masters ?

Indoor masters is an aircraft competition, BUT im willing to run an INDOOR HELICOPTER event IN 2012 at R.A.F SHAWBURY if there is enough enterest.
I dont think the uk has ever had a big indoor helicopter event yet but it can be done easily.

    anyone up for it ?
    email craigsimm0@virginmedia.com

what would you like to see a competition of show/event ?
what name could it be called ?
any ideas or thoughts in general would be listened too.

    cheers Craig

What sort of size would the venue be, and what size Heli? Sounds good though, I love indoor flying

I Think if it was a competition there would have to be a class.ie 450 or classes. But there is an enclosed area that most heli's could be flown for demonstration purposes etc.
Size its about 370x160 feet the size of a pro football pitch aprox.big.
Im happy to run what you guys want to see.

Craig i think it is a excellent idea,it would idealy be restricted to a maximun size 450 heli or smaller, and at least two classes, one for all out 3D e/g the duncans&steffans of this world and a class like the old schluter cup for the rest of us and obviously it would have to be well policed to make sure some of the better pilots dont get into the lower class, but yes Craig great idea, your's Marty.

Keep us updated, I rekon a 450 size event could be good fun if there's enough interest. Only problem for you as the organiser is safety - netting would be a definate must have.

Thanks guys,we already have a netted area for safety concerns and know this would be essential.safety comes first.
Yes there would be two classes.
It would also be around october/november time.
45o size helicopters for competition would be a sensible limit i think.
Trader would also be inside the venue and drink machine etc,showers/toilets etc.
            heated also.
Im listening to what you might want to see at an indoor event.

            Thanks Craig

Also Craig, may be a some set up clinics,eg how to get the best out of your FBL system, pitch set up,and Andy from optipower giving lipo chargeing and care advice etc,as im sure if it is a 450 size event it will get many entries from flyer's who would not enter the likes of the normal flyin's,and deffinatley a beginers class as said earlier, yours Marty.

                      Hi Craig,

The one thing that really impressed me, and i've only seen it once, was synchronised flying.

Two pilots flying together - not hard 3d (but it can be I suppose) - the emphasis on a synchronised display. Could work well in a wind free environment.
