  • 3D Champs Grass Roots ? What's happening ???

Hi can anyone tell me what to expect on the day ????
I know we fly the set Manouvers , but how many do we choose ????

Then the freestyle ?? how long and what are the judges looking for ?

Some pointers would sure be a help as the nerves are setting in big time.

Maybe someone who entered last year could tell their story.

    Thanks all
    's Rachel

Hi Rachel, as James has already stated, the 3D Format website has loads of info. Just remember it's better to choose a lower K rated move and do it well rather than attempt a high K move and bugger it up. As for the 3min freestyle, just fly it like you stole it! :-)
It also helps to have a routine so you don't have to think about what move to do next whilst you're flying. My dad says that if you were to wear a bikini you'd definitely get into the finals :-)
All the very best and I hope you do well.

          Alex is spot on.
Remember you will be nervous, but so will everyone else, i was.
if one of your sets goes pearshaped (like 2 of mine did) just say oh well and enjoy it, its all about the fun

All will be explained on the day. Just go with the flow and have fun!
Last years schedule went: All fly sets - scores published. All fly freestyle - scores and finalists published. Top 5 pilots then repeat sets and freestyle.
All was completed by early afternoon.

Thanks for the advice although for the sake of everyone there I will pass on the Bikini lol as for the finals no way in heaven could I get there last place is reserved for me.

Nerves are already setting in I just keep going on the sim and trying a routine.
Still in a weird way I am looking forward to it.

If you watch people that are experienced in competitions their callers normally have a list of moves that the pilot is going to use in their freestyle, this gives them the advantage of not having to think what their next move is going to be or trying to remember the list. Its natural to be nervous but the main thing is that you go out and enjoy flying and have fun

Yep spot on, write them all down and your caller can remind you of moves you are missing, really is a great help
