  • 3D Scotland 2012 cancelled

sorry the news is not better folks but last week the SAA decided to cancel the airshow after much debate.

myself/stu/barney have decided that we should follow suit.

sorry for any inconvenience caused-we will be back in 2013.

    cheers

Sad news for this great event, but under the circumstances, what choice did you have!
We'll be at the 2013 event, of course!

    Cheers,

This is a shame for what has become a very well organised event that Paul / Stu and Barney etc. put a lot of work into. I have every confidence it will be back with a bang in 2013 as I know how serious these guys take it and look forward to it already!

      Thanks for the communication.
      cheers

if you cant hold a comp why not just put on a big scotland flyin with some fun style games and makes it more accessible to more flyers. Find a local charity and use the event to help raise funds for a local cause. put on buddy flying and get the public to come and have a go....

just an idea its early in the year good opportunity to expand the community imo. granted a shame you cant do a scots championship but your talented organisers give it go.....;-)
            Cheers

it is certainly an option but all 3 of us have things going on in our personal lives that obviously comes first. my mother is midway through treatment for cancer and the projected op dates are right around when 3DS would happen-ish. i'm all for an event if someone wants to sort something out but it is not something i can personally devote much time to just now.

              cheers

Sorry to hear about your mum and without a doubt I understand your situation. If anyone in Scotland wants to take on the challenge then seriously consider it I'm more than willing to help where possible and come and give a hand on the day if possible as my calendars getting manic already.

Just a suggestion seems a shame to miss an opportunity to put on a large flyin north of the borders and have a laugh amoungst fellow flyers.....
                  Cheers
