  • 3DS 2010 reflection

well peeps i thought i'd post a little "de-brief" of our first little event so people know how we plan to proceed.

now the flurry is over as it were i would like to just apologise for this news- the videos from 3DS 2010 have not came to fruition due one thing or another. i won't go into too much detail but the camera man we had planned for many months couldn't make it but kindly left his camera equipment for us to use. trying to find someone at a weeks notice to do this wasn't easy and subsequently the end result is as you would expect. we will do our best to put up some form of montage in due course. apologies from 3DS team on that one folks but we have done all we can here due to the last minute change.

in terms of the competition we are going to try and organise our own pilots briefing and better control of demo slots as organised by the SAA for next year. thankfully the weather played its part so it wasn't required to run late into the evening for the competition.

we will tie in with rob/edders on anything that may help in terms of judging/scoring/event rules etc to keep things as consistent as possible across the competitions as ideally we would like to see our winners progress onto the 3D championships, or to any level they want for that matter!

few final words on this years one-it was great event for me and i do hope everyone enjoyed it and will be back. we have already started planning on the next one and how to make it bigger and better for all.

we have already had a number of pilots ask for a reserved place and all will of course be notified at the time via the email system/forums/advertising etc and thank you for your continued support.

    cheers

    Hi Paul

Let me thank you and the guys for organising a terrific event.

Bummer on the video's Was wanting my inverted pyro flup/plop for all to see..............................

Its fair to say it gave me the appropriate 'push' to help kick start my flying. Its made a huge difference for me and I for one want one of those places for next year!

Also for anyone attending next year I would not reccommend the sausages at Chlenry Farm B&B but Carl has a soft spot for them

    Regards

    James

Gutted about the video's Paul but hoping you can salvage something as you say.

I for one thought the event was a total succes so don't stray too far from the format you had this year.

Yea, cracking event and looking forward to next year. Is the footage really un-useable Paul? I was really hoping to get my flights on film. Any way i can get the raw footage on a CD?

stuart is looking at how best to salvage something from the vids now lads.

tim-we won't stray too far so don't worry. just things like gates for us to our cars, our PROPER pa system, big gazebo delivered earlier. very few of the things on the agenda are tweaking the format of the weekend. just things to help things run smoother.

            cheers

I think it was a fantastic weekend as well, awesome weather, awesome flying all weekend, some fantastic banter and it was superb to meet some fellow nutters erm I mean heli enthusiasts .

On the Actual organisation side I thought there was no real major issues but as always there is small things that can be improved upon.

Also a huge well done to stu, Paul, barney and everyone else involved in making the weekend so well organised. I seen first hand how much work had to be done to set this up and I am thoroughly looking forward to winning the grassroots level next year

Sausages are best kept under the carpet.

Sorry to hear about the footage (do I really want to see my flight again, yes just to see how bad I was)

Well here's a vid by a fellow kinross club member.

Its obviously harder than it looks to film the heli never mind fly the thing!
