  • Heli Fairs - are there any?

    Hi guys

I was just wondering if there were ever any more commercial Heli (or even heli and plank) trade stand fairs?

The kind of thing I'm thinking about is like the BMF (British Motorcycle Federation) shows that happen around the country where trade stands and bargains abound.

Is there such a thing for the aero RC community and, if so, where and when?

If not, why don't we start one?

    Martin

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

There used to be lots of trade stands at the sandown model show but that sadly doesn't happen anymore and TBH you never really got bargains there in the last few years, infact more often than not the online prices were cheaper than the show prices!

The NATS in august is the biggest show, held at Lincoln which has stalls from all the major suppliers there .. No 3d helis but you get the nice smooth boys of F3C there to watch and alot of planes hehe ....

I was toying with researching the price to hire a hall, contacting all the heli retailers and etailers we know and trying to organise a heli fair, a bit like the numerous computer fairs that spring up in such places.

I guess there wouldn't be the demand.

There are the big ones that have already been listed like the Nationals and Wings'n'Wheels, but there's also loads of local swap meets and bring & buy sales dotted around the country - you can usually find details of these in your local shop and in the 'events' section of the BMFA mag.

                              Cool! Thanks for that!

But DOH! I'm seeing Eric Clapton at the Albert hall in the evening. Probably spend the day in London too!
