      OK, picture the scene...
All set to go to my first 3DM but when I see the bank statements and all the Raptor bits I bought to set myself up, I can only do one day
      Question is - which day??

I'm going up Friday evening and staying until the end Sunday. I think Sat evening and Sunday is the best days/night flying.

Last year was the first time I have seen the night flying on Sat up at the top field. It was amazing ! Looking forward to this years.

And most of the pilots are "Tired" by that time (but I never said that )

Picture the night flying scene, from the year before last, two pilots, one at the controls and "Tired", the other standing by his side and "Awake". "Tired" Pilot flys the heli into the distance, away from the netting line, and says to "Awake" Pilot "Which way round is that, because I have no idea ?", "Awake" Pilot says "upright, tail towards you, . . . . no, wait a minute, nose-in, . . . . nop, tail-in. . . . . for God's sake, take the pirroette off " . The flight was actually exceptionally good from that point on, but I nearly wet myself laughing when I was told the story by the "Awake" Pilot

                    Janek

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

Thanks for the offer Stuart. It's not that simple though. Both me and the wife want to check out 3DM and so its double money on everything - it all adds up. We are looking into a cheap B & B about a mile away so we could walk.
Incidently, what is it like to walk around up there at night?
We are going to try and sort something though as I would like to see the night flying and am also interested to see what Ade's "something different" is...
                      Regards,
                      Cheers, Lee.

                        Leebert,

Can't say I've left the campus on a night time, if your doing the Saturday daytime you have to stay for the night night flying and more, just watch the best have fun and loosen up from the competition aspect of the event. Provided the weather keeps try its a good night's enjoyment.
                        Cheers

I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. I definitely agree that the evening/night flying isn't to be missed. Bring a chair, find a good spot and kick back.

I did think about putting that in but I didn't want people to think I was an alcoholic. *hick*

Quick question about the rooms on site...
Are they all singles or are there any twins/doubles?
If they are all singles, is there enough floor space to fit a sleeping bag in as well??
                                Cheers,
