  • XFC Heli Known Maneuvers 2015

The new moves for 2015 have been unveiled.

    Forward Rolling Loop Reversal
The pilot will start in fast forward flight flying from right to left. When the model is on the centerline in front of the judges, the heli will start the first of two rolling loops. The first loop will be done while rolling right. After the pilot completes the first loop and the model hits the center line, the pilot starts the second loop while rolling left and does another complete loop with the last roll ending on the centerline.
Key Points: The pilot will be judged on making the loops round
    Keeping consistent speed
    Positioning
Both loops should be the same in diameter.

    Aileron Tictoc Loop Reversal
The Heli starts on the centerline in front of the judges in a hover at 5’, with the tail pointed to the right. The Heli then executes the first half of the loop with aileron tick/tocs and the “canopy facing” the judges. After the first half of the loop is complete(at the top), the heli then reverses the tic/tocs to have the “skids facing” the judges and finishes the second half of the loop. The last alerion tic/toc ends when the model hits the center line and returns to an upright hover. Note: The loop is done in a counter clockwise rotation/backwards, and the nose faces to the left during the entire loop.
Key Points: Geometry of the loop, keeping it round
    Constant speed throughout the loop
Consistent Tic/Toc speed throughout the loop

    Pirouetting Reversal Loops
The model starts this maneuver from right to left, upright and in fast forward flight. When the model hits the centerline, the pilot will start the first of two pirouetting loops while pirouetting to the right. When the model completes the first loop and the passes the centerline, the pirouette direction will switch to the left. The pilot will do another complete piroutteing loop ending on the centerline.
Key Points: Loop geometry and keeping consistent speed throughout the loops as well as positioning. Both loops should be the same in diameter.

    Flipping Autorotation
The pilot climbs up to an altitude of their choice to do this manuaver. When at their desired altitude the pilot hits throttle hold and does one forward flip, followed by one backwards flip finishing with a piroutteing flip before landing in the marked box on the center line.
Key Points: Consistent speed throughout the flips
Low altitude piroutteing flip before landing
Smooth controlled landing in the box on the centerline

Great videos, I now understand how you do a piro flip... ( I'll never be able to get my head around it but I know how it works now )

Errm, I'm guessing the piro flip at the end is actually 2 piro flips. Either that or you have to land inverted.
