  • Throttle up problem

    Hi all, as you may realise to my question I am new to this. but as I power up my heli on my radio the power to motor does not kick in until the stick is just past mid stick, can some one help me with this as I'm new to this, the heli is setup for general flight, not 3d. Thanks

    Not really enough info to work with.

    Is it a computer radio ie DX6i?
    Have you checked the throttle curve setting?
    Does the radio have a "Monitor" screen where you can check the channel O/P's?

      Hi sorry, the radio is a futaba T6J with screen, the throttle curve is. 0 25 50 75 100.

        What heli is it? If it is electric have you done throttle range calibration in the esc?

          As franky975 suggested.

          Also does the motor stutter before it starts?

          Try moving the motor away from the main gear, does it start up OK then?

          The best way to solve an issue like this is by substituting parts, a process of elimination. I always keep a spare motor and ESC for this purpose, they don't have to be the same rating as the parts on the helicopter. You need to try the motor with another ESC and/or the ESC with another motor.
