    Hi all,

I'm here on a recommendation from likansuk269 he assures me that there will be a nice prize here waiting for me, something to do with a competition your running !!!!!!

Anyways, I'm fairly new to rc helis, I've been flying planes for the last 20 years, but have now decided to venture into the world of electric helis... first off, I bought a colco spyhawk or something which was pathetic.... but wasn't detered..... I've just got myself a twister cp which I can actually fly.... albeit in small hops...... about a year ago I bought aerofly pro rc sim so basically learnt how to fly helis on that......

here's to many hours of enjoyable flying....

Welcome to the forum, Good luck with the flying

Don't know much about the micro or electric scene as I prefer the bigger smelly Nitro helis but they are all great fun. I still build & fly fixed wing as well and enjoy every minute of all my flying.

There are details of the competition on the main forum, prize is a Raptor 30 with OS37 8)

          I'm a new member too!

          Hi there

I have just found this forum from googling for Heli-forums. (Just so you know).

I am extremely new to heli's, although it's been my ambition for a long time to enter the hobby/sport. I live down in the land of Sussex and thus, Sussex Model Centre is my second home at the moment.

I used to Race Cars, so am now progressing to the air and am waiting to take my brand new (5 day old) Raptor 30 V2 out for the first time. I decided to get the kit version, as opposed to the ARTF with Engine - that way I get to know my model more. I decided to get an OS 37HSZ-Ring engine for it. (On recommendation)

I think I might go up to London, to Flyin Fish and see about having a whole day there or something... Has anyone had experience of that place?

Are there any fellow Sussex-er's on this forum?

          Best Regards,

          Simon Barrett

            Hi Simon,

            Welcome to the forum

I'm sure if you had a whole day with Dave Fisher you would pick up a hell of a lot on learning to fly. Perhaps it may be a little too much to take in at one time. You may want to consider breaking it down a little into 2 half days or even four 2 or 3 hour sessions instead, that way you have a far better chance of digesting what you learn and therefore get the most out of it.

            As for recommendations, this has been discussed before, have a look at this thread;

            Cheers,

            Pete.

              Simon

Welcome aboard. If you're down in Sussex and want lessons, you could also contact Nigel Fraser-Ker. He is based near Epsom and has a website called Heli-lessons. (I think).

There's also Colin McGinn, who runs a school in Surrey. I have his contact details, but am in Italy on business until Fri. If you would like them let me know and I will pm you on the weekend.

www.heli-lessons.com is the right address. I have spoken to one or two of Nigels students and they were happy with training (and their flying shows it too)
