  • help needed to choose a micro blade

I am looking at the mcpx bl also the blade mcpx and the blade msr x or the blade nano any help would be appreciated as I would like to go and purchase it today along with a dx6i spares and extra batteries

Depends where you are going to fly it and if you want fp or cp.

don't go for anything bigger than the nano if you want to fly indoors.

They are all robust heli's so I would have thought you could make the jump straight to cp, but be prepared to put the hours of practice in.

    Welcome to the forum btw

        Welcome....
I started with the mcpx flying indoors with minimal space, crashes were plenty and repairs were numerous. I now fly the 130x outdoors and have come on a long way and don't think i could go back to the mcpx just because i find it so fiddly to keep flying how you want it too.

As Mark_w says it really depends on where you will fly.... either the Nano or the mcpx indoors or the mcpx BL or 130x outside.

For co-axial like stability, consider the Blade 120SR or Blade mSR. Both have a 45-degree flybar that gives very good stability. Both are fixed pitch
For a slightly bigger challenge (but not by much) consider a Blade mSRX. Still fixed pitch
For a real challenge, consider a Blade mCPX or Blade NanoCPX. Both are collective pitch. The nano is (IMO) quite "flightly/twitchy".
For a real challenge, but outdoor only, consider a Blade 130X.
If you've got kahunas to be proud of, consider a 450-sized bird, and follow the learning how to fly series on John Salt's website (How To Fly RC Helicopters)

Also, just take a look at John's website generally ... RC Helicopters, The Most Fun And Rewarding Of All RC Hobbies.

I started with a fp heli then a nano for indoors (used mainly for hovering and orientation due to small indoor area available)
Then got a 450 but found my cahonas are not big enough so got a 130x.
Just flown the 130x outside for the first time and OMG even hovering in my garden it was great. I can see this being my main heli for a while then when cahonas grow the 450 will be my next step.

            Hope my ramblings help.

The 130-X can be flown indoors when you reach a reasonable standard, it is just right for a sports hall. It is brilliant for the garden and outdoors and is very like a flybarred 450.
The msr-x is very cheap and a good stepping stone, it is very easy tail in, but difficult to get side on, which is very good for practising side on. The 130-X does need the orange plastic bits to control the shakes. They cost very little. Don't worry about which heli to get, it won't be your last. They all have advantages and sometimes you may not want a challenge, just something easy. It's really all about the way that reality affects your ability. The bigger and noisier it is the more reality tends to try to fry your brain.

I have them all started with the sr120 got bored after about aday wast of £130 imo. Then got a cypher 450 again waste couldent get it off the floor for more than one pack without in flight breakages. Mcpx v2 super taught me a lot how to fly and how to fix more flying than fixing very good starter imo. Then the trex 500esp this is where I would start knowing what I know forget the micro for now they have there place but the 500 ste up right is big soft a little soppy and reliable. This imo is the best bird to start with. Stay away from the 130x till you are happy to strip and rebuild they take some looking after. Im now flying basic 3d on a 600n. And dont forget a sim the most important of all.

Go for an mCPX if you have to pick one of these.....
The mCPX flies smoother and more stably (especially with bullet blades) which is what a first-CP pilot needs most, getting used to the differences in flying characteristics. The mCPX is a more solid CP trainer, and will fine-tune your collective management skills and has a higher head speed for better out door flight.
The mSR X is a real bear to fly,The nano burns motors, is LESS crash-resistant, more damage to Nano than mCPX....
