I am new to the Forum and already found some great information. My first heli was a Blade Scout which I still enjoy flying; followed this with an mCX2 hooked to a DX6i, the latter came as part of the Phoenix simulator. I can pretty much push the mCX2 to its limit even with custom rate settings so I was looking for something a bit more challenging and, with summer hopefully around the corner, to fly outside. Now I am not sure if it is me but having played with various models on the sim I am finding anything other than a co-axial almost impossible to fly. After a great deal of research I came up with two options - buy an mSR X (which I can almost fly in the sim, and persevere) or go for a big co-axial e.g. the Blade CX4. The company I alighted upon though is Skyrush who produce several 450 co-axials under the Teryx family. They are big but easy to fly and can be upgraded to do a lot more with a swap of swashplate.
These look to be fascinating machines (especially the Sikorsky X2) and the MD500 or Barebone are very appealing. These seem to be rare birds and made to a high standard so does anyone have experience of them or is going down the co-axial route a blind alley? TERYX 450 - Coaxial
