  • Motor cut out problem :(

    Hi all newbie first post,

Just recieved my new interceptor 400 from heliguy looking forward to maiden flight and have problem straight away with it.

    Using DX6i transmitter.

Im very new to the heli scene and the problem i have got is the motor dies after half throttle then i think ESC bleeps again few times like when you first connect battery and you can throttle again but then bam happens again half way? ESC is a Hobbywing pentium 40a.

what could be the problem? i have tried 3 different batterys now and happens with either one? is there some setting on radio not correct?

On the second time of this happening the bleeping was different not the normal 3/4 bleebs when starting it bleep a bit different if so alot ?

I will be contacting heliguy about this but just by the off chance something i can do or try that you guys have experinced?

    Thanks

    Jason

What is your user name on there I will take a look?

Also it was in my budget range and had some good reviews for a starter that's why.

I would guess its either the motor drawing too much current or a fault with the ESC.

Check the pinion mesh with the main gear isn't too tight.

                    Hi
Have owned same ESC before, need to carry out sequences below to set it up
Before doing so, for safety to stop blades spinning up, unplug 2 or more of the wires from ESC to motor.
                    Normal Startup Procedure
Move the throttle stick to bottom position and then switch on your transmitter Connect the battery pack to the ESC a special tone “123” emits, that means the battery supply is ok Several Beep tones emits to represent the number of lipo battery cells As soon as the self-test process is finished, a long “beep” – tone will be emitted Move the throttle stick upwards to go flying now
                    Throttle Range Setting
Switch on the transmitter and then move the throttle stick to top position Connect battery pack to the ESC a special tone “123” emits that means the battery is OK. Then wait for 2 seconds “Beep-Beep” tone emits, that means the highest point of throttle range has been correctly confirmed Move throttle stick to the bottom position several “Beep” tones emits to represent the4 number of Lipo battery cells A long “Beep” tone emits, means the lowest position of throttle range has been confirmed
                    Regards,
                    Steve
                    Happy flying

                      Motor cut out problem

I have checked 3 bullet connectors seem ok.

It's like it's about to draw more current for lift off then shuts down.

i have just tried this i disconnected two bullet conectors to stop blades spinning from motor plugged in battery and i dont get any bleeps at all ?

plug all 3 back in a bleeps work but to dangerous as blades will spin up?

is this esc suppose to bleep even if no motor wires are connected if so esc playing up ?

your problem could possibly be the pitch or elevator servo(forget which 1 it is now)drawing too much current trying to work the mechanics, the mechanics of this helicopter are very hard on any type of servo

In the end it was the Throttle range settings must of entered program mode yesterday like i thought it did and must of had it half throttle.

Changed settings this afternoon checked in garden seems ok now started to hover but was bit gusty so called it a day.

Thanks for the thread replies tho and vinny i had a look at your threads from heliguy seems u had a bad start all together hope mine ok for the time being.
