  • Glow Fuel Advice

Hello ! Please could you offer me some advice on what fuel would suit a 48 sized MDS Heli nitro engine?

For example I would like to know if propper heli juice is recommended or can i get away with model plane fuel?

Basically I am not getting high enough RPM from the motor so assume i need a fuel with high nitro content?

What fuels do you use and any other tips would be great! Many thanks

i'm not sure how i can break this to you politely so i'll just say it. those engines are p1ss poor. more nitro on a good engine should indeed yeild more power.

what fuel are you using now and see if can recommend something that will tide you over until such times as can get another engine.

as i said not wanting to sound rude but you will without doubt have more problems than flights with it sooner or later.

    cheers

Yes it is a cheap motor - I am using an MDS just for the hell of it as it is not a really serious heli - just a bit of fun.

I used basic contest 5 then 10% clear stuff - not sure of the name as my mate gave it to me.

        cheers

I run my heli on 15% Coolpower, works well in my os.50, if it's just for a lark about lean the main needle out a bit...

My comment was tongue in cheek. Sorry if you found it upsetting but it's an MDS engine and trying to use one in a heli with any success is a recipe for disaster...IMHO of course

I guess Raptorheli2 was a bit more subtle than me

Does anyone know if Dynaglo 16 is ok? I am not sure what the oil content is i.e. is any good for heli use
cheers for your comments so far dudes.

I'm using Model Technics Bekra 16 in my MDS 30 in a Moskito. Not the most outrageous 3D performance but as hovering and gentle circuits are the limit of my abilities at the moment it does the job!

Straight unleaded petrol will be the best fuel for an MDS.
Just pour about a gallon or so over it and then set it alight.
When you finish watching it burn, purchase an OS for trouble free flying

cheers then - I'll ebay the motor off instead and put the 2 quid I will get towards an OS
