  • Which indoor CP bird?

    Hello everyone!
I'd like to get a little CP to practice in my living room, I already own a MSR X and an MCPX BL, flying the latter indoor is obviously a bad idea considering my skills and the head speeds this fella reaches.
Therefore my dilemma, MCPX V2 or a Nano CPX?
Both of them seem to be able to take some abuse, the MCPX motor is not enough for advanced 3d apparently, and the Nano CPX motor is not gonna last forever, so both have pros and cons.. What do you suggest for someone who wants to learn some 3d?

I would go for the nano, unless you have a massive living room.

Having said that, I would actually just fly the MCPX BL outside

The Nano without a doubt, from my experience of the mCPX it is unlikely that you will get any meaningful 3D moves going in your living room (it is under powered), plus the mCPX has a greater potential to cause damage. The Nano main motor is a problem, but the Nano is at least more capable of carrying out 3D moves in a tight space. Plus, changing the main motor on the Nano isn't hard. I've had my Nano since October, I've probably had around 70 flights out of it and the motor is just starting to go... on the one hand, 70 flights out of a motor isn't a lot, on the other hand, based on the fun I've had with the Nano, I don't begrudge the thought of shelling out for a new motor as much as I thought I would.

I have broken my mCPX so many times now through flying it indoors I have now banned myself and only fly it outside. That's where it's in its element anyway. I nearly bought a nano until I realised I had probably progressed beyond it but from what I can make out it sounds like the one you need...

True, but with the work I do I'm able to fly it only on the weekends.

Thanks for all your input guys, then Nano CPX it will be!

I can second the Nano. I have an Mcpx v2 that I have been systematically destroying indoors for a month or so. It bounces well, but hard, and the blades hurt!
I bought the Nano a couple of weeks ago and it is so much bouncier and doesnt smart quite so much when it hits your arm! They are both pretty quick and scary at first, but you can tame them down a bit till you get used to them, then go back to the recommended settings and they fly great.
I'm not into acrobatics. ( we all fly then 3d right?) but its a bit of fun and learning orientation is more exciting than with an FP!
