at wits end with kds 450qs

I am now at my wits end with this heli. when i get the heli off the ground and try to hover it seems as if the controls do not react straight away. the tail is trying to turn to the right so when i use the sticks to correct it it thens goes in the opposite direction, then the throttle seems to surge and also the heli suddenly moves forward. Have replaced the tail drive belt put in new esc changed the radio gear to spektrum dx7s and ar8000 receiver and changed the gyro to an e-flite one. took it to my lms and they set it up it seemed ok for a while but now its back to the way it was. Also when i start up and push the throttle stick forward it sometimes hesitates and shakes before the motor kicks in properly. any ideas would be much appreciated.I am wondering if it is the esc as ive heard that kds parts are not very good. if so can you use any 40amp esc so long as it fits.

Been there with a friend's KDS. The stock KDS parts are pants IMHO.

We've replaced all the servos, gyro, Rx/Tx, ESC. It's a bit better now but still a handful.

You can use any good esc. Align / Castle Creations are good starting points.

Best of luck. You'll get there but there may n ot be much of the original KDS when you do! lol.

that sounds like a similar journey i'm still busy going through with this copterx black angel , won't be much of that left either by the time i'm finished replacing this and that (aint that right lee )

can you tell me which better quality servos will fit the kds

We used HiTech MG65MG for cyclics. Tail servo will depend upon which gyro you use. I use a Futaba 9257 with a Futaba 401 gyro, but there are much more modern alternatives from Align for example.

You need a fast digital servo on the tail. That will pay dividends.

This is a good and budget priced tail servo for a 450 size machine. I have one on my Mini Titan and it performs well.
