Brand new stupid newbie here looking for advice after rushing into heli ownership

I'm not normally slow to search and ask advice so I blame the xmas alcohol excessssssssss but I have found myself in possesion of a Blade 450 3d (Not launched due to advice on here ) A Blade 130 x (Also not launched ) A Phoenix sim which I'm getting along with nicely and a Blade mcpx which I launched quickly then proceeded quickly forward and banked right into a very solid object (No right stick involved) Result was 1 broken main blade and a broken link rod (Both included as spares tho ) So parts replaced and it still goes where it wants on launch

The learning curve has been steep but I'm keen to get the needed tools to sort this myself with a little more advice and help

As a pro mechanic I'm not scared by tool cost but links to "how to" videos and the best tools for the job would be welcomed

Thanks in advance guys (and girls )

If you look on the main blade website (www.bladehelis.com) there's loads of how to vids

Also check out finless bobs vids on helifreaks.com

Finally, take a look at rchelicopterfun.com - a brilliant site for beginners.

After buying countless cheap tools i finally bit the bullet and bought a set of mip thorpe allen and nut drivers, although they were expensive in comparison to other makes i have found them amazing, so much so that they could remove the rounded cheesium screws that align supply in there 700 kits so i could repace them with lynx upgrades.

I have a nice set of losi drivers already but will look at the mip's as I am really impressed with the driveshafts I have for two of my e revo's , I was looking for something more heli specific tho eg blade balancers ,swash plate levellers etc but do I really need them ??????

For the most part, blades come in pre-balanced pairs from the factory. That said, I know many people who check them and find they're not quite perfect. For the size of helis that you're currently flying however, I would argue that a blade balancer isn't really a necessity (certainly not for the mcpx or 130x!)

Swash leveller can be useful - again for 450 and upwards. Necessary if/when you do a self-build.

If you're serious about this hobby - one of the best "tools" you can buy is a decent LIPO charger that can parallel-charge. Personally I use the iCharger 106b from Homepage, but that's just me.

It took me years to build up a good tool box for this hobby, but as said it works out better and cheaper long term to just spend the money and get decent tools to start with. It's also the one thing I wouldn't sell even if I left the hobby, I'd put it up the loft just I case I decide come back to the hobby.

i'll post more info later when I'm on the desktop
