First Flight

Well, I just had my maiden flight with my Blade.

It lasted 5 minutes!

Got it into a stable hover about 12" high, slow manouvres, seems ok.

Gust of wind!

Flipped over on to side.

Result.......something has bent, I dont know what, being new to this game, but one blade is now lower than the other and the joint on the rotor head seems slightly twisted.

Ah well, its off to Fastlads tomorrow, to find out exactly whats up, and how big a mortgage I need.

Oh the joys of flying Helis.

sounds like you've bent the feathering shaft mate. i would check the main as well!
bummer i know but get it repaired and in no time you'll be up and steady!

bad luck there, probably the feathering spindle has got bent. thats the shaft that goes horizontally between the blade holders. its a usual suspect when you have a spill along with the main shaft. Depending how hard it hits.

good luck with it though. Youll be back in the air quickly im sure

Best off keeping it indoors... They're not really outdoor helis. Best suggestion for outdoor flying.....perfectly calm conditions.

Just sorted the bits out.......

Feathering Shaft, Main Drive Shaft and broke some teeth off a servos gear.

Got both shafts, have to wait while end of week for servo to come in.

Now I just got to start unscrewing things, haven't got a clue where to start.

Is there some sort of manual you can download on how to repair and build etc.

And make sure you take down the washing line!!

Hope all goes well with the repairs. If you can't find a manual or exploded drawing, take lots of photos as you take the thing apart and use some small bowls or something to keep different screws in. As you remove a part, look to see which way up it went.

not realy mate as it dosent come in kit form. best idea is to start at the top and methodicly lay out your bits as they come off,take photo's to help.

Sorry to hear about ya little accident ... Wait till ya start on .30 size and above.... Then ya need a to remortage ya house ... I thought 1 heli and thats it ... Well am on 3 now and just about to buy a .60 size hughes 500 ... Oh no more heli's lol ...And i only been at Heli's for about 3 or 4 month lol
