    Trex 450 tail drive gear Help Does any one know how you should fix the little belt drive cog gear to the shaft
    I have just purchased a new one and its come as two parts ?

    I had probs with the plastic top pinion 'slipping' around on the shaft because it's only plastic and an interference fit on the shaft using some splines on the shaft. Eventually it started to slip and nothing could fix it - no even epoxy was good enough.

    So I bought a new set which had the metal pinion on and that was supplied as a separte part in the kit, so I drove this onto the original shaft using a hammer - gently! - and it was a much tighter fit than the plastic one, so the interference was enough to keep it fixed.

      I think the new shaft in his packet probably has no splines. I've suggested loctite but I've not done it myself.
