It was when I crashed it.

As far as I am aware it is yes. I have come to this conclusion as when I turn the heli on, the gyro seems to do what it should which is move the blades to level position??? Well as level as you can get with bent everything that is.

After an few indoor (large front room) hovers, a main rotor blade clipped the Stereo unit and left a little bit of damage.

Thinking well £10 for new blades, may aswell do some more damage 1st and place one big spares order.

So, down the field on a calm day, not many at the moment and started to hover. I don't know what happened but it hit the floor with a thud.

Tail rotor, servo, flybar, landing gear, tail fin and tail blade.

OK, so upon working out the damage named above I managed to flick the gear switch. Main blades motor attached and all hell broke lose. Blades spinning, helli spinning, me moving quickly, my misses going OH.

        Addition damage:
        Main gear.

So being a complete newb here I am. I have not ordered my spares yet, but I am sure I will need help from you guys in the know.

the technical terms are completely new to me so please excuse any future posts with the wrong terms.

I am going to need to know basically how to set the ruddy thing back up again once I have replaced all of the parts. I understand the trim and making arms longer and shorter etc, but as for pitch and swash plates being level I have no idea.

Also, should my main blades be lose? Out of the box that is. If they are, how lose is lose?

        Thanks for any guidence.

not the gear switch, you mean the flight mode switch? as thats what I did, plucking thing went mental! there should be a safety on that! imagine leaving the switch on and connecting the battery! take your bloody arm off.

I cant believe your flying it in your house! are you insane? the ground effect is bad enough outside with this heli cant imagine whats its like indoors, suprised all you ended up with is a broken stero and not a chelsea smile! and a good old fashioned knee capping, I am talking about damage from the heli not your missus, I am sure she would have more pain planned!

If you know about using the adjusting rods then you will find adjusting the swash plate easy, its just adjusting the rods from the 3 servos.

Make sure you order a feathering spindle as well, ( goes between the two main rotors) as thats definatly effed.

        Good luck with the rebuild

        Cheers
        Andrew

Thanks for the info. You are right, it was the flight mode switch. Now should it be up or down?

A feathering spindle - I have had a look on Century and they are cheap but where does it go? I have had a look in my 8 page comic that came with the heli, but cannot find any reference to it.

How long is it and where does it go? Maybe a picture please? Just so I can see what I am buying / fitting.

I am not looking forward to setting up the rotor blades etc though.

Flight mode switch should be in the up position, "N" its used in the other position for when your flying upside down :/

Right well the feathering spindle joins the 2 rotor blades together and is hidden behing the plastic grips that hold the blades, its about 4cm long,

The above pic shows it, for an align helicopter

This diagram shows changing it for a raptor but it will give you the general feel of how to change it

Oh yes, never saw that there.

Thank you so much for your time in helping me out and also for talking the time to add links as it will really help me.

I will let you know how the repairs go but may be back with more questions before that.

Well would you believe 6 months down the line and it is still sat on the shelf minus repairs. Work, family etc.

Anyway, I have just purchased a cable from CenturyUK for Trans - USB. It comes with adapters for Century, Futaba, JR, Airtronics, Hitec & E-Flight. Plugged it in, vista found the "Human interface" and away I went - crashing without the cost and for just £9.99.

Maybe I should have considered a sim before smahing my heli up.

As for the repairs, I will get around to them.
