  • advice plz

    Hi, all.

    Ive had a co-axial heli for about a year, and got quite bored of it, but got the bug.

    Been asking a few questions about what to do next, so ive bought myself a 120SR RTF, question is...what do i need to do? i.e whos had one, and found its better if you do this and adjust this etc.

    Thanks.

      You shouldnt really need to adjust anything on the 120, it should be good to go with the recommended settings out of the box.

      If you want to bring it over tomorrow with your tx when you drop the club money off, im happy to check that you have it bound and set up properly, and that it behaves itself in a hover.

        Thank you, that would be a great help, although it probably won't be here for a few days as I only ordered it today.

              Hi Garry,

              I started out last year with a 120SR - top heli to begin with IMO There's absolutely nothing you need to do with it. Once you're quite comfortable with flying it around, you can change the swashplate links (advanced swashplate settings) to give it a slightly higher top speed and more responsive cyclics, but if I'm honest, the difference isn't huge.

              Best advice I can give on this heli is to change absolutely nothing, and under no circumstances do any modifications/upgrades on it. You will almost certainly outgrow it within a year (and possibly sell it on). Any money you have would be better spent on any one of the following :-

              * A decent transmitter (assuming you've got the simple TX with the RTF 120SR)
              * A few LIPO batteries. 4 mins goes quite fast!
              * A simulator (requires decent transmitter)
              * Your next heli!

              For the moment - just enjoy it. Here's a bid of me flying mine just before I sold it. (notice that stupidly, I paid for a fancy canopy - only just before I realised I needed to move onwards and upwards!)
