I only have experience with the falcon 3D. I used it to learn how to hover and then sold it on to Fatmantom.

I found it to be an excellent toe-dipping exercise, as long as one accepts the following
    * one pays for what one gets - these are not excellent heli's
    * being cheaper and lower quality, it will pay to get someone who knows what they're doing to get it up.
    * if the bug bites, its 99% sure you'll want to pass it on to someone else and get better quality.

    Good luck
    Andrew
I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

Blade CX2 and Phoenix is the only way apparently, Its also not on your list!

I can say I wish I had known about this site and Phoenix BEFORE I bought a couple of the heli's I have.

      I'd have saved a few £'s

Go with Dashik's advice mate, Pheonix Sim and a Blade CX2, best advice I ever took. It's what a lot of the guys on here recommended so I went with it. Now I'm happy as a pig in.... Well you know where I'm coming from.

I agree with Dashik on the bit about wishing he had Phoenix and that, I lost my first heli over the rooftops, and had I been a member here and had Pheonix that would never have happened. We all have to learn the hard way.

BTW I did get it back, but alas the poor old thing is spares for the one I had to buy to replace it.

falcon 3d = mini pred i think... which is a bad copy of a zoom 400

          aka... stay well clear.

honeybee king 2 is pretty good for the money but i wouldnt recomend one for a first model.

dragonfly 60 is possibly a walkera copy of a zoom 400?

if you have never flown defo get the cx2 and phoenix sim

I would say none of the above.
If after indoor fun a blade cx and phoenix sim.
Outdoor a blade 400 would be ideal.
Another would be a belt cp that would be around the cost of a falcon but overall a better heli.

How about HOney Bee King or belt CP as a 2nd heli after a CX2? (For those on a tight budget - obviously the aim would be a Blade400 or Trex450). Also, is the Ark X400 any good?

I think the twister storm the new one they have down the hobby hanger, Adie says his dad flew it and it flys good but is not to the same levels as the blade 400.
I think that one comes in by looking at it half way between the minipred/falcon and the blade 400.

I own a mini pred/falcon3d and cant fault the thing ... for the money it is a very nice heli .. Yes alot of it is copied from the Zoom and then added to ... People I know with zooms say the same thing ....In this day and age theres alot of ARTF/RTF heli's about and I think its down to personal preference .. .Where I fly there are now 5 or so minipreds and the people who have them say the same thing ... once set up right they fly nice ...I have flown a Trex and yes they are very nice and thought about buying one but while my minipred is giving me endless hours of fun for very little in return cash wise I know what I will be sticking with ... Ya have to remember some of the people that fly helis have been doing so for many years and to a very good standard so maybe a little minpred is crap ... I dont car ewhat others think and the minpred has let me progress to nitro helis and at the end of the day this hobby is about what you want out of it and not what others want .... Listen to the advice given on here by the members then make ya own decision on what it is ya want .... And good luck deciding lol ...

Thanks guys, the Belt CP looks good and thanks for the vues on the Falcon, I'm thinking of getting something to start with without costing the earth so if I don't get on with it I'm not spending $$$$$

The poll is open for another 30 days so if enough ppl say they Falcon is an ok starting point I may go for that,

                      Keep the comments coming fellas

yes cheers for that andrew, it did also teach me alot about heli's, i crashed it A LOT! which meant i began to understand how the heli's work.

it has now moved on again! and im afraid to say it was starting to show its flight times and wear away!

                        cheers,

mini preds are the devils incarnate. When setting one up the other day it glitched like a mofo and took chunks out of my hand with the tail blades. that combined with the pathetic tx, **** poor pitch setup, and also the fact its made by century is enough to make anyone run a mile.

let that be a lesson! never offer to setup a mini pred for someone who doesnt have any patience and stops off after deciding he cant fly it....
