  • Servo arm question

Hello, I have searched for this before posting and couldn't find a definite awnser.

Levelling the swash plate is fine I can get it quite level but the servo arms are not the same on my hbk2 as a friends hbk3 mine sit at nearly -45° when the transmitter is all the way at the bottom giving a pitch of -2 all 3 arms are exactly the same and my swash is level I take the stick on the transmitter to 70% for take off.
My friends hbk3 had a crash and swash was very unlevel so we gave leveling it ago and found the servo arms are meant to be at 90° so with the transmitter at the bottom servo arms level and swash level it is ready for take off at 40% maybe less, haven't done pitch yet as he broke blades before I got there by spinning it up a little to see if it worked hit idle up switch and bag into a wall.

Could somebody clear up where they should sit in reference to transmitter if we are set up for beginners with pitch curve at -2 bottom and +10 top

    Thanks for any help

In an ideal world, you should have your head rigged so that at mid stick you have no pitch on the blades, the servo arms are at 90* and mixing levers are all level.
Most desirable, is to get the swash level throughout its travel up the mast. However, if you're still using the stock TX, this may be a bit tricky and you will have to compromise for best results above mid stick.

It's a long time (5years) since I had my King2 and have forgotten many of its foibles. There's a big following here on Heliguy and some very good stickies to work through. HoneyBee King 3, mods, upgrades and older models. - Heliguy.com

As with all helies, setup is key to easier flying and the King can be made to fly - I've done it.

      Good luck, Marty
