hi matt i to am new to this and to the fourm ,the first good step you have taken is being a member here,, the guys here are very helpfull .so for what its worth dont try your heli on your own you will destroy it , i would say you should buy a sim eg phoenix sim or realfligh 3.5 then you can lern on pc and get usedto the controls and how a heli flys & if you crash its free.o joining the club is good,

As Boggy kindly stated the Phoenix is the one to have.. Buy it and practice practice practice..

Don't even think of lifting the Raptor off the ground unless you have conquered the sim first, It will end in tears..

The club at Pontefract you mention, If its the one they fly at on the race course then you are a very lucky man, DO JOIN the club because they have a wealth of members that fly's helicopters there, I know some of them and assure you they will help with both your heli set-up and your flying.

Make the sim your first purchase though, Very importent.!!

Sounds like the main gear "could" be knackered but without seeing it cannot comment.

main blade grip set.the reasont that i bougth the raptor is that a mate of mine had it and never flown it came with every thing to fly at a cheep price.... my mate this is the reason i wont fly the raptor yet

He he.. Don't even think about flying the Raptor 30 indoors now or anytime or she will divorce you, Thats if either of you will still be living after it slices you both to pieces..

The Raptor 30 is not a toy, They are very dangerous and not like the vortex v2 you already own.
