  • New Blokie saying hello..

Hiya everyone. I've been looking at the forum for a couple of weeks so thought it time I said hello...so... hello...

I'm currently flying a Twister Bell 47 around my lounge, but realise there is a whole (very expensive) world of R/C heli's out there. Ususal newbie question I suppose...whats next for me? I looked at the new Twister and the Blade 400 rtf.. any comments gratefully recieved. I want something I can fly outside. As a 47yr old who has reasonable reflexes, but not those of a fighter pilot I want something stable and probably electric.

I've purchased the Phoenix sim which has had to go back as the sound isn't working, I just have a silent version loaded onto the comp.

Just to explain the name, Midnight Sun... Its the name of my two dog, sled dog racing team. I race two Greenland Dogs as Team Midnight Sun. We race all over the place, but mainly on the South Coast. If you think R/C helis are expensive try dry land sled dog racing !!!

    My real name is Rob..

hi rob welcome to the forum.if you think dog sled racing is expensive try rc helicopters
sorry couldn't resist that one. so your going to do both eh!!! can you lend me a tenner?
the blade 400 is an excelent next step and i believe the twister storm is as good if you already have radio gear.
there are really loads of options if you want to spend a little more the trex and mini titan are good bets. or of course you could go nitro or large electric trex 600 springs to mind. search the forum theres loads of info!

Welcome to the forum mate, sound not working. If you haven't been in touch with phoenix then I would do thisw before sending it back. I very much doubt it's the software, more likely to be a driver problem. I could be wrong tho

      All the best.

Light travels faster than sound, this is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak....

Hi Rob and welcome to the forum.
Blade 400 is an excellent heli for the first step outdoors and come rtf.
If you want a kit to build then you can't go wrong with a trex.
