I flicked through the manual once, got bored and then just returned to browsing through all the menu's instead....

I reckon Jimheli is doing ok! Any questions mate! Please feel free to ask.. I have no qualms helping! Just don't rely on Evo Andy, he seems to be in a terribly unhelpfull grump! (Just joking Evo Andy!)

In the "normal" menu's on your tx, i.e. not the special system one, you will probably want to make any throttle and pitch curves linear...

          i.e.

          Low stick 0%
          Mid stick 50%
          High stick 100%
The 9x II draws your curve too, it should be a straight 45 degree line from min stick to max stick...

Once you have calibrated your radio in Phoenix sim then fell free to experiment with the curves again... (My curves were already linear by default, but I dunno about the 9x)

Phoenix sim has a pre-setup PCM 9X under the JR radio. So just select that and once you have calibrated you should be pretty much up and running....

          Cheers

ok rob some good news i did as you said, & robgt reset first and hade a look at throt/ pitch, all at 45 so pluginto phonix and WOW im fliying again . now the reason why i was playing around on pcm 9 x is because phoanix has mini titon , i allso have realflight 3.5 but it does not have titon heli ,but on 3.5 sim you can fly inverted no problem loads of power, but on phoenix very little power when inverted so you end up in the ground. as this is something i need to master as well as normale flight does any one know what i could adjust on 9x

Ok.. So your "collective" stick is actually adjusing two channels at the same time..

            1. The "collective pitch"
This is the pitch of your rotor blades. As you move the stick forward you increase the pitch, as you drop it the pitch decreases... At 50% stick you get 0 degrees of pitch on your main rotor.... (As you have your curves all set at 45 degrees you get a linear relationship between the stick position and the amount of pitch....)
            2. The "Throttle"
This is exactly what you think hwo much power your motor/engine puts out... The greater your pitch from 0 degrees the more power you need to keep the rotors spinning as fast! As your throttle curve is linear this too is a liner relationship to your stick...

As you can see from the above two points... You can see that when you want to go upside down your move the stick to the lower half fo the range (below 1/2 stick). But you will now have less than 50% power too! So hovering up-side down is not possible, and you tend to fall otu the sky...

This is where "idle-up" comes into it... You can setup your radio to set "idle up"... On my UK radio (mode 2 with collective on the left stick) the switch is at the top-right corner...

When you toggle this switch look on the main screen on your radio.. You will see the following.
            [NRM]
            or
            [ST1]
            or
            [ST2]
            or
            [ST3]
            or
            [ST4]
These are your "flight modes". You will want NRM to be exactly what you have set so far. (Actually I have some suggestions to tweak it but thats for later...)

When you select ST1 you can have a whole new set of "curves".
If you look in the curves menu you can change the "mode" and adjust the curves for each "mode".

For ST1 ("idle-up" mode) set your throttle curve to....
            100% at minimum stick
            50% at 1/2 stick
            100% at maximum stick...
Now you will not be able to stop your rotor in this flight mode, i.e. after landing, but you will have full throttle at minimum stick position and max stick positions. Now you can hover upside down so long as the heli is capable of it!

There is 1 more flight mode you can setup thats usefull... This is "throttle-hold". Typically (on my radio) this is the bottom switch on the top left of my radio. In the menu enable throttle hold, there is an entry for thro hold (throttle hold), by default it is INH (inhibited).. What this does is give you 0 (NO) throttle at all pitch settings.. This let's you practice auto-rotations, as if the engine has died!

Hope that helps and makes sense.. Ask if it doesn't!

            Cheers
            Rob
