  • Whats sutable for my first heli??

Firstly sorry to ask, I know that its been asked time and time again but I have found some of the responses to assume the person asking a questions has a good knowledge of Heli's which I do not..

    Basics are:
1.I dont have much cash (not ideal when looking at heli's)
    2. I want a heli I can fly outside (I did look at a Twister Medivac but a lot of people dont like these outside for flying)
    3. Is the below link a good deal and is it sutable to try and learn with?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Walkera-3D-6CH...QQcmdZViewItem

    Thanks for any help offered

firstly i wouldn't touch walkera with a barge pole !! they are horrible imo.
if £37 is your budget im afraid you'll be looking for along time mate
contra's like medivacs/ bladecx2 etc are realy only good for indoors or very calm days. belt cp/ honeybee king / blade 400/ twister storm. are all reasonable starters if you want to go straight outdoors

I agree with Boggy, don't go near the walkeras, they are cheep for a reason. Mini pred or falcon 3d you could also have a look at by are not as good as the blade 400/belt cp.

I'd stick with the Lama 4 (blades are dirt cheap) or the Blade CX2 (spektrum control system) but the blades are more expensive.

If your on a serious budget then remember it'll cost the heli again and then some before your flying in your house time and time again without any blade hits.

Also to really go for a CCP heli you need loads of sim practice as not to do so would be financial suicide.

My opinion would be go for the Lama 4, at least your have a cheap to replace "blade" heli that your eventually have bombing round the house like a pro without spending a fortune.

It's not suitable for outside unless it's dead clam, but with a tight budget mate I'd say go for something your use time again indoors than a real cheapy that your muller in five seconds outside, game over!

if your determined to go the out door route also budget for the phoenix flight simulator this will save you a lot of money , crashes there don't cost anything!
look towards something that use's 2.4 ghz radio (glitch free)and no worrys if your in the local park and someone decides to fly alongside you
to be honest mate your looking at £340 flying. its an expensive hobby!!

Boggy is right, might cost 340 plus at the start but doing it the right way will save you a lot more in the long run, and by using the sim you won't get so dis-heartened when crashes happen as it costs nothing.

I had leanings to that Twister Chinook, but so many here reckon the Blade that I'm looking at that as an alternative now.

Blade CX2 would be a better first heli than the chinnook, it will be more like a real heli as the twister chinook is a bit more difficult to control
