I think you're nearest club is probably Bath heli club who have a field between Bath and Bristol I believe. There's also Woodspring wings I believe south of the city, but not sure. Check the BMFA club finder!

Damn I am so confused xD So many club sand i have no idea which ones are heli friendly, most of them seem to be plank only. I live in filton Avenue so something close would be ideal

i am a member of Beaufort model flying club, that has 4 flying sites in bristol and 2 indoor flying venues in the winter

As a club they welcome heli flyers, and one of the sites is perfect for heli and not planes so it's nice and quiet

They insist on having my adress to send me an info packet. Why can't they give me a pdf or something? It's so old school

Yes, it is a little bit "Old School". But its a well run club that has great facilities, who are not against helicopters.

It is a shame that from the outside the club is seen to be just for old guys with planes as we have members interested in and taking part in - Planes, Jets, Helicopters, FPV, 3D printing, Quads, combat flying and BMFA certification

That coupled with the fact that they would not answer me question of "Are you guys heli friendly" made me stay away. But maybe after I learn basic flight I might join since if I join now I'd just be hovering.

I will raise this with the club to find out why you were not given a positive response, as again I don't think it helps with our club's reputation.
