another new heli nutter

hi folks
im boysmith im from the north west cumbria,ive always wanted one of these big boys toys but kept putting it off ive done a bit with a simulater a little while back, but ive managed to source a electric heli was told its a E-smart ive downloaded a user manual and it looks like the one,this one is the carbon one,ive just bought a spektrum DX7s to go with it,the problem is im not sure how to set it up ? the manual isnt the best ive read so was wondering if anyone is still flying one of these birds if so anychance of some info

Hi Boysmith, welcome to the obsession!

I don't know about your specific helicopter, but once you know what mixing system is used to control the swashplate (the bit that controls the rotors pitch) then you can set it up as a generic model.

check out the finless bob videos on helifreak, he goes through ccpm set up from start to finish. you will have to be a member of helifreak to see the videos but it is free and a great resource.

the principles of setting up helicopters are all the same, collective pitch will be on the throttle stick with the throttle, these are paired together using throttle curves.

the cyclic controls will be either ccpm Cyclic-Collective-Pitch-Mixing.... or it will have a separate servo for each function. (like a raptor helicopter)

once you know which style of swash control you have then you can set it up on the Tx and off you go.

i know what you mean lol i've been up to a local club and a couple of guys set my heli up then flew it for me,i'm still trying to get my head around the geogramtry,
