  • Pitch, curves, thro, throttle...Is there a dummys guide.

    Hi all,

Is there a thread somewhere that explains all the settings and what they do, why change them etc. Im pretty new still to this and have a blade 120SR. Im looking to change but will need to tame the 130 down a bit as poss on pheonix. However i have no clue as to what all the settings do and what difference they make.

    is there a guide somewhere?

You could try this:- Setting up & flying your T-Rex

Been there and done that, but never stop learning.

On electric a fixed 70 to 80% for throttle works well to start with. That's from half way to max. Then start at zero from min with 35 or 40% half way. The pitch curve tends to be a straight line from half way to max pitch. The lower half is different for normal or learning mode. Usually people set around -4 degrees at minimum throttle with -2 degrees half way to minimum. Half way is zero pitch, full throttle max pitch around 10 degrees with 5 degrees half way between middle and full. The shape isn't that important as it just changes the feel like using expo on cyclic and that is up to you. The max negative value is useful if you need to hold the heli to the ground when landing in wind or if you want to bring it down quickly. When learning there is a tendency to panic and drop the throttle and negative pitch will slam the heli into the ground and so too much can be a problem when learning. You can use zero if you want to begin with.

In idle up or stunt mode pitch is usually a straight line from full negative to max positive usually symmetric and throttle is a constant value depending on your model experience and abilty to withstand stress.
