  • Hi guys!

Hey guys, just thought i'd pop on and say Hi!

been looking through all the posts, decided to buy myself a little present in town today, one of them silly £20 mini-rc helis. Amusing, but it made me want a real(ish) heli, so i've been reading around forums (this one mainly) and it seems that the CX2 is the 'Heli of the moment' for newbies like me, so i've ordered myself one with the training gear, and a spare battery.

I used to be into truck/buggy RC'ing with a Savage, great fun for bashing.

Are there any Kits that you can buy where you actually build the thing, i know i could strip this down and rebuild, and probably will at some point, but it's always nice to be able to say 'i build that, i can't fly it for peanuts, but i built it.'

Also, any decent information/tips anyone can give me?

I'm in croydon (SE London), anyone else from here?

    Cheers guys, great forum.

    /Dean

    Hey Dean,

Welcome to the forum.. Im sure many others will agree that the CX2 is a very good starter. Ive had mine since Xmas day and can't get enough of it!

You made the right choice in getting the training kit and an extra battery.

Ive got quite confident in flying this in the few days that I have had it, but like you, I used to be into Nitro Monster truck bashing too. Savage X, T-Maxx and an Evo... Long gone now, gave up Nitros, too much hard work for me getting them engines tuned etc..

I used to race Mini-T's and the old Mardave Banger V12's at my local club so the RC Car experience may have helped, maybe..

    Anyhow, enjoy your heli!

    Cheers

welcome to heliaddicts. there isnt a better heli you could of chosen to start youself off to get into the hobby. the cx2 is a great heli and you wont be dissapointed with it.
next you should think about getting a sim as you probably know by searching/reading through the forum. phoenix is the best sim to get and will plug straight into your cx2 remote.

look forward to chatting with you in the near future and if you need any help or advice then start a thread or join in the chatroom. learn to hover and keep it simple.

            Yes it is Dean!!!

I can guarantee that when you master flying helis on the sim you are almost certain you will be flying your heli for real.

The great thing about the simulator (Phoenix) when you have a crash you wanna see the bits smash all over the place..

The only downside for most (and me) is when you get out in the field looking at the "Real Deal" is quite daunting but in reality its all in your head, Your busy thinking about how much it cost and how much time you spent building it.
Once you get over that hurdle its much easier..

            Welcome to the forums BTW.
