  • Losing the grip of death :0)

Had a great day flying this weekend. Went up my club and nobody was there so got some serious back to back batteries through the 450. I am sèriously back in love with this little heli. I have realised to make her as locked as the rappy I need to upgrade the towerpro servo's. But... Having got a whole afternoon stick time I relaxed into flying.

After listening to an article on RCHN I tried to see how long I could release the death grip and (carefully!) just lift my fingers away from the sticks. It was like a revelation! I didn't crash and burn in a nanosecond! The sticks stayed where I left them! And I didn't plough a groove across the field when I took control again

I know it seems daft, but I never realised how much time I actually had to recover if I try pushing my (limited) moves. More importantly though, just relaxing my fingers on the sticks every few minutes forces my flying to relax. Breaking that deathgrip is the biggest step forward in my flying since my first first venture from the ground.

I also realised that one afternoon a week at a busy field is not enough to advance my flying. The first three or four flights merely shake off the rust from the week gone. If I want to get to where I want to be I have to put in the hours, now just to explain to my boss that I can only work one day a week

Just thought I'd share for all the folks that are not far behind me.
