  • Buzz Fly?

I notice there are no comments on any of the forums on this micro 4ch RCH called a Buzz Fly

    http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/Sub-Micro...-Fly/p-97-747/

But surely someone must have come across it already and formed some sort of opion.

I look forward to comments on this very compact piece of kit.

Happy New Year everyone and may all our crashes be minimal!

Looks like similar to the Micron heli with a different head set up and skids, other than that I haen't come across it before - might be worth a search on rcgroups?.

      Buzz Fly?

      Thanks, jiberjaber, for your input.

Out of interest, how does the Micron fly? And presumably it might only really be any good indoors?

I helped a club member setup a Micron V2 because as a newbie he had difficulty flying it. It flew remarkably well, very controllable indoors and I wouldn't recommend outdoors. In my opinion there are 2 downsides:

        1. Parts are as expensive as any other heli.
        2. Parts seemed to be made to be as light as possible so you are constantly swapping motors/gears etc it works out to be a very expensive heli long term, you will always be fixing or fiddling with it!

So he sold it and bought a Blade CX2!

Anything else in that size bracket could be unstable or expensive as well beware!

i think with it being so light it would probably take quite a beating before anything broke.

The Micron main gear was so thin it used to wear out quite quickly, about 5-6 flights before it started slipping. The undercarriage was plastic, not CF and broke easily from heavyish landings. Main motors used to burn out quite quickly too, he spent over £200 on spares from the US and didn't get anywhere near the flying time he should have got from it!

Just from experience. I would love a submicro, but I want it to be reliable too. I love the Picco Z for just that. Fly it from the coffee table to impress friends and family, at a cost of £20!
                  regards

                      Buzz Fly?

Many thanks to Pipistrelli, freakybwoy, pxr5 and Boggy for their very useful and helpful contributions

Regarding reliability and the reference to the Pico-z. I started with that but found the charging connections gave out after a few times, so that has been consigned to the dump and moved on to a CX2, so maybe will just stay with that for the timebeing and give the micro types a pass.

Its definately a rebadged 4#3. I spoke to the guy at BuzzFlyer earlier in the year about it.

Personally i reckon your better buying one from Flying Hobby. Cheaper even with the postage and you can get some spares at the same time for less cash than just buying the heli etc from BuzzFlyer.

                          Buzz Fly?

                          Thanks, Dashik.
Looks interesting and you have one. What do you reckon it might be like to fly for someone who has started with a CX2 (as you may have read). I.e is it fairly stable or tricky? Or would I be best going straight to something like a Blade CP to progress to cyclic.

The compactness of the Sub-Micro RCH is interesting because you might take it anywhere (for example on holiday)or, as someone has already commented, fly the type in the office. Would it be worthwhile for practising cyclic in a confined space?

Thanks in advance for any more helpful comments.

Hi there. Its a very tricky heli to fly, I moved the balls to the inner holes to reduce servo throw and its still nippy! Still its great fun to fly indoors if nothing else and its not so big that it will bite if you know what I mean. I definately would not reccommend it to learn on. I only have electric helis' I learned on a Twister CP V2 then Bought a Belt CP and now T-Rex 450. If I was to do it again I'd definatly get the T-Rex right off the bat. Along with the DX7. Nice and Stable and thats a good thing. Also I love the LT2100T on the tail.

So If its for some indoor fun then yes the 4#3 is worth it and once you can hover you can practice indoors but to be honest you'd be better off with Phoenix and a T-Rex deal from Flying Hobby. He will swap the GY401 for the LT2100T and it also comes with the Hitec HS65MG servos and a 9650 on the tail.

Hope that helps. Just my 2p

Thanks, Dashik. Very helpful and information. Much appreciated.

I am starting to consider which cyclic I progress onto and all of this is helpful stuff.
