  • Blade CX2 Vs Walkera 4#3

    Hi Guys/Girls,

Thanks for letting me join this forum, I'm a newbie to helis!

I've been searching around the net, looking for reviews and comments about the best starter heli to purchase.

The Blade CX2 (or is it the E-flite Blade CX2 now?) and the walkera 4#3 both seem appealing to me.

The blade CX2 seems to have more reviews about them for being starter helis.

Could anyone confirm the CX2 will be a better choice as a starter heli? I only want something small I can fly around the house, hence why I was also looking at the Walkera 4#3 (first noticed as the Buzz Flyer on buzzflyer.co.uk but think its just a walkera 4#3 in new skin!).

    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks

    Matt

Hi and welcome,Have a read thru this thread it should help you out

    http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7956

If you can stretch to a blade and phoenix sim bundle from skyline then that will probably be your best option, that way you got the hands on with the blade and all the practice you could ever want with the sim

I know my local shop had some the other day http://www.hobbyhangar.co.uk/ but couldnt tell ya how much.
If your really serious about this hobby then I would go down the sim/blade bundle from skyline because the sim will you lots in the future

If you've never flown before the Walkera is not a good starting point, MUCH harder to fly, you'd even be better off with a bloody great Nitro

Thanks for the reply, I thought as much...

I'll try out the CX2 and see how i get on with that.

I didnt mention before, but I used to have a Honey Bee CP2 (I think)...

Found that a bit too big for the house so I never managed to practice with it. I hope the CX2 will be better for me.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I'll post some videos of me attempting to fly it when it arrives.. I'm sure that will give you all a good laugh!

                Cheers,

CX2 is much easier to fly, possibly too easy but it does teach you the sticks

Heya and Welcome and like thay all said ... Sim time is invaluable for getting to grips with the controls and all without the added expense of crashing ... which we all do .... Someone told me a while ago " if ya not prepared to crash then dont fly " But once ya got used to whichever heli ya get then it does not stop there .... Hope ya got an understanding other half lol

                      Sims

Is there a cheaper or free sim that will work with the CX2 handset?

                      I'm just being tight here...

                          training kit

                          Hi all,

just one more quesetion, does any think the training kit (criss cross things with orange balls) is worth getting for this heli ? Think they are only about 7.99 but if they are not worth it then I wont bother.

                          Any thoughts?

                          cheers

the blade cx2 is really stable anyway and wont tip over easy like other helis but it would be better getting them and using em for the first week of flying it.
                            cheers
