Small milestone.... An 8

Had the afternoon off work .... took both the fusion and the trex450 up to the field for a fun afternoons flying.

Past few trips i've mainly been getting my side-on hovering sub-consciously doable and started push around a little towards nose-in but mainly been trying to crack a figure 8 (using banked turns rather than just O-----O style flights)

I'd managed a couple of half ones but today ... actually did a full one A solid figure 8 in a single continuous flight path at reasonable speed

Just as i brought the heli back towards its starting point (but still in forward flight) my brain decided to reward me .... big time... got that wonderful kick of endorphins and adrenaline at which point i was forced to do an enormous bail-out (just went up and tail-in about 50ft to give me a few seconds) ... my heart was racing and my thumbs unresponsive

It was towards end of flight but my brain was shot ... had to come down to calm myself .... had biggest grin evah!!!

Oh very well done. You must have been chuffed to nuts. Talking of nuts, you had me worried when you said your brain gave you a big reward, hahahahahahahaha. Then I see it was just a natural chemical pleasure, hehehehehe.

Its ever since i upgraded my 450's head and servos ... its transformed it and seems now completely locked in and so responsive and has given me more confidence ... Really enjoying flying

Just need to get over my fear of my bigger bird ... i still feel heart start beating quicker and fingers tense when i even hover it ... hence why i was looking at something smaller / cheaper .... but i think i need to stick to my guns and just get over myself

Well done!! I find the more packs I fly the smaller the heli feels and the greater the urge to get a bigger one :-)

I already have the pretty 600 and I'm broody for a 500-550

Has to be said. Once I get over myself and start to enjoy the 600 and not be scared of it it'll be an awesome thing. Only hovered it and it's supremely stable in wind

So ... only a matter of time before you succumb to a larger one too then

My mcpx is kinda suffering now so rather than invest in that i'm still toying with 130x for winter indoor fly-in's
I bought the fusion, if i am honest, much too soon ... so now scared of that but wanting something a bit bigger than a 450 but seems silly now to blow another best part of 700 on yet another biggish heli
