    OK quick clue here guys....
    Import duty is 4%
    VAT is 17.5%
So if you get stung bringing new goods in you pay total 21.5% (Hence why Cambs thought it was 20%)
Also if your sender uses normal parcel service and Parcel force get it then YES they charge £13 handling fee.
Finally if it is a luxury item, there is a special tax on those items at roughly 22%. So if you buy the missus some diamond earings you're gonna get spanked for around 43% However.... it can still be worth it when it comes to luxury items I bought the missus exactly this....and it was still cheaper than the UK and for better quality SI1 clarrity diamonds....same price in the UK (what I was going to spend) was 'I' clarrity plus the diamonds were .25crt bigger (in the USA), plus around £400 cheaper even with all the duty. We get seriously a55 reamed in the UK for jewellery and furniture. .... most things really

BUT when you're ordering little packets containing AR7000 Rx's/DVD's etc. they rarely get stopped and so generally get handled like normal mail and fly through with no grief. Hence I think it's a good buy.

Unless your missus is looking through a jewellers glass then SI or lower can't be seen supposedly with the naked eye . As for Flawless, what's the point in paying 15k for flawless when the same size at VVSI is 5k and SI is around 2-3k .... Point this out to her and mention handbags and shoes and suddenly it's not such an issue (especially when you have your eye on a new Heli . The real fekker is when they can detect CZ !!! My missus can ... she swears they lack 'fire'. WTF ???? I'm tried to fool her twice and each time she noticed almost immediately.

FL (Flawless) - IF (Internally Flawless)
Flawless Diamonds reveal no flaws on the surface or internally are the rarest and most beautiful gems.
Internally Flawless Diamonds reveal no inclusions and only insignificant blemishes on the surface under 10x magnification.
        VVS1 - VVS2 (Very, Very Slightly Included)
Very difficult to see inclusions under 10x magnification. These are excellent quality diamonds.
        VS1 - VS2 (Very Slightly Included)
Only looking through a 10X loupe can pinpoint the inclusions in this category and are nearly impossible to see with the naked eye. These are less expensive than the VVS1 or VVS2 grades.
        SI1 - SI3 (Slightly Included)
Diamonds with inclusions easily identified under 10x magnification. Finding flaws in this category with the naked eye is difficult. The gems in this category maintain their integrity, depending on the location of the inclusions.
        I1 - I3 (Included)
Diamonds with inclusions which may or may not be easily seen by the naked eye. The flaws on the stones in this category will have some effect on the brilliance of your diamond.

She doesn't need to look through a glass, she can see all she wants to on the certificate, I'm afraid my Mrs knows her diamonds and has friends in the business, good news is that when she does buy or upgrade I can normally get away with a new model and if I buy her one then I can get away with going out and flying it
