    Hi all,

I have taken the plunge and I am going to nitro.

I have got none of the bits I'll need though.... In fact I am not sure what I do need. So any recommendations for a particular flight box bundle, or particular recommended gear to get?

    as always thanks in advance,
    John

The Thunder Tiger Carry Master, available from Midland Heli or Skyline and probably most others is a reasonable setup.

If you search Midland for this one L-RFB200 : Moulded Plastic Flight Box. I got mine from Inwoods and it was supplied with the starter, power panel, 12volt battery, plug wrench and glow clip. The box holds loads including my tx and tools.

im not a fan of the carry master... it involves decanting fuel from the bottle into the can in the box which isnt a good idea. the electric pump is unreliable and the starter it comes with struggles even on a 50.

i prefer a B&Q tool case, batteries in the bottom nice solid locking connector on the outside of the box for the starter and a little 12v glow thing. Fuel is left in a fuel bottle with a cap fitted with a breather and a filter clunk line.

-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

          And a DX8 too

              Lightweight!!!

The Deluxe Flight Package has all the basic starting items you'll need.

I've used the Ripmax Flightbox for planks for years, and been happy with it. But now I've got to be a bit more careful how much weight I carry around (no cheap jokes ).

I bought a aluminium flightcase from Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...&doy=2m12#spec), which takes my DX7, 12v starter with battery attached (Maplin AM23), and starting wand. There's still room for some other small items, tools, tail blades, etc. A manual pump is zip tied to the fuel bottle and the shoulder strap from the flightcase is fed through the bottle handle.

With my 600n in one hand and the flightcase in the other, I'm balanced and not overloaded. The rest of the gear, I leave in the car.
Peace: Being left alone to examine the new bits you've just bought!
