  • Help im Confused

    Hi to all
I have just become the owner of a nice raptor 50 titan it has a jrr900s reciever a csm revlock govenor and a g7000t gyro ,,now I wanted to install a dx7 into this heli but it seems to be using all 9 at the moment!! if i y lead the voltspy off the battery and operate the csm revlock in manual mode i can get down to 7?? but i was wandering if anybody else has done the same thing and what they found ??
Also is anybody using a jr 9 - 10 channel transmitter with a module?? Im not sure what to use for longevity this or the dx7?????

Being a beginer is HARD !!!!!
    Thanks guys and gals

    easy

    Bin the voltspy for now.

    1.. throttle / governor

    2. ail

    3. ele

    4. rudder / gyro

5 . remote gain for gyro ( gear chan )

    6. aux 1 pitch

    7. aux 2 governor remote ( flight mode switch)

dunno much about the revlock but it may have an acc plug which u may be able to run the voltspy through.

No, the gyro takes two channels.

Channel 4 goes to the gyro 'in' and then in turn goes to the rudder servo.

Channel 5 goes to the gyro 'gain' control.

          Just as Colin said.

The Voltspy only has very limited usefulness, but if you really want to use it and don't have a spare channel, then you can (a) Y lead it into any channel you like, or (b) Y lead it into the switch line that goes into the Rx.

The Voltspy only takes positive and negative wires with no signal wire, so the voltage can be detected across any of the channel outputs from the receiver.

I would go for option b.

            looking at the instructions.

i would put the select lead in chanel 5 (gear) then play with the travel adjust on chanel 5 (gear ) whilst watching the green and red lights on the amp.green light is heading hold .

if that don't work then do the same with the gain lead.

i will read the destructions some more but i am quite unfamilliar with jr gyros so i am just trying to work it out logicaly. would be easy if i had it here to play with, (not an offer)

              ok.

i think after reading some more that the best way to go would be to plug the gain lead into ch 5 (gear) and leave the select lead out.

what we should be trying to achive is a red light ON on the amp and then tvl adj on the gear channel will become your gyro gain. (i would start at about 60%) providing the red light stays on.

the rudd trav adj will be your rate of rotation (how fast the heli will piroette)
i would also set that to 60-70 % for starters.

its gonna be a case of experimenting unless someone else uses one of these puppies and has the right knowledge.

i tried the 7000 and could never really get it to work properly. might be better to sell it, should get decent money for it then look at something a little more user friendly.

If I sell it ,,what would be the best thing to buy to replace it ??
I think it takes up three channels because of the left and right hand gain adjustment ,wich use an aux outlet and the gear outlet each plus the rudder output!! ?? probably way more gyro than I need !!

Also what radio systems are peaple using at the moment ?? is the dx7 rated or do you find that only having 7 channels limits you?
Im about to try what Colin has said in previous post lets see what happens??

Futaba 401 would be the cheapest gyro to switch to but best choice would be Spartan or CSM720
