  • Beginners: Something to inspire and aspire to.

I love this video. The guy shows such finesse and makes something difficult (to my mind) look so darn easy. It is truly beautiful to watch and is something I dearly aspire to do. I thank this man for putting up this video to give us fliers starting on the road something to aim for.

    Watch and enjoy:

I find it easier to fly scale rather than 3D, but prefer 3D over scale

Bit like a Taraq flight for me, watch the first 10 seconds then fast forward to the last 10 seconds to see if anything is different, boring imo.

3D is another one of those Marmite things, I prefer the flying in this video too.

There is nothing difficult about flying like this. You just have to weather the storm of 100 crashes (or more) and several thousand pounds worth of investment in Helicopters and equipment. Provided of course you don't give up in frustration.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

The forum serves skills at all levels surely? I like watching 3D but I'm getting slowly to scale flight, having built a 450.

I've had the joy of my first hover and I'm looking forward to being able to fly like the pilot in the video.

Remember that you started once and play nice with the toys, please.

It's nice to see someone flying a heli in a calm, controlled manner and enjoying it.
It's exactly how i started off, but now i just seem to be a bit of a speed freak, although i can't ever see me flying hard core 3d, but i'd like to be able to do inverted, backwards flight, etc.
I love to watch smooth flying, full on 3D bores me after a while but i can appreciate its very clever!

Malc: I thought JohnSandyWhite was being nice

All the time I'm inspired I will learn and continue to fly.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your heli

Nice. What does F3C stand for?

Can someone fix the typo in the title please

Not too sure exactly what it means, but the text below gives a brief explanation of what it is. This was taken from HF BTW

F3C typically has a hovering portion, an aerobatic portion, and then an autorotation at the end. Each has to be flown as if wind is not there, so if it is 10mph wind, or 35mph wind, the judges do not factor that wind, you have to make it look as spot on as 0mph wind. Hovering is done at lower rpm head speed, aerobatic as high as 2200rpm, with speeds of 115mph approx. These helis usually heavier blades, and heavier paddles.
