  • And Today Gravity Won

After a couple of minor blade strikes had my first proper crash today with my trusty TRex 250 in the garden.

Been practising nose-in hovering and flying in circuits in the gusty wind was lots of fun until the wind and gravity got the better of me and I ended up "landing" tail first.

Broken Boom, tail servo top cover, boom supports, tail shaft, tail control rod, and tail belt.

Not to bad really and not a big job to put back together. Sad really but looking forward to getting the tools out and rebuilding the thing find that almost as satisfying as flying.

We have all done it many times!
Fiddley little things to fix 250s - I've fixed one twice, and it made me swear a lot both times!
Hope you have good eyesight bud!

Started out with an MSR and then and MCPX, so the 250 in comparison is a piece of cake to work on.

I have a 500 as well but not had the opportunity to rebuild it yet, I tend to be a little conservative with it whilst the 250 I'm less worried about breaking.

Just hoping I don't now start to encounter the tail problems people have with these.

You have a great attitude to the hobby, good luck with the repairs and enjoy. I too have a Align 500 pro and love it it's a great machine.

I hate to admit how many times I've fixed my 500...I actually enjoy fixing it now - the bits aren't expensive, they're big enough to see (!) they all fit, and its a decent size to work on - Love 500s to bits. Sound good too...

Stripped down and replacements ordered, plus the day glow orange tail to match the day glow orange tail blades to help tell front from back. total cost less than £25, bargain price for the hours of fun I have trying to fly (or at least not crash).

When does trying not to crash transition into flying?
