  • Help. My police heli fell in a puddle and need help and advise?

    Hi All,
New to the forum and was just getting in to the electric heli and my Police Heli cam, fell into a puddle and although I grabbed it as soon as I can. As soon as I connect the battery both the motors spin on full.

I have used the hair dryer and no difference. The servos seem to work ok, it is just the speed of the blades on continious. I will try and keep in a dry room for a few days. But dont really want to spend out another £35 if I can help it yet.

I believe the issue, is the 3-1 controller got wet (probably the gyro, i think?)

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Martin

    welcome to the forum mate

one trick to try is to put it in a air tight bag or container with rice ( the unboiled variety). the idea is that the rice will extract any moisture. if that dosent work i think you may have to replace the heli.

      Thanks Mate,

I will try that next, at the moment, got it in the airing cupboard. How long should I leave it in rice?

I was hoping the water would have shorted out one of the connections, that I could see on the board, that I could just look at and clean.

      Thanks

Ok, purchased a new 3-1 and the blades now spin around as expected. Still drying off the old unit in rice

Can anybody explain which blade should spin first when on very slightly please, as top one starts (blade B) a few seconds before the bottom one (Blade A). Is this correct, as never noticed it before? and are blade B always on top?

          Thanks in advance. Martin
