Regardless of who agrees or who doesn't, has someone checked that it is safe for Ross to be flying this heli? Is he in a club? Does he actually know what he is doing?

These small heli's are still capable of chopping a face off and the forum collectively has packaged up the ability to do that and sent it on!

I would have thought at a bare minimum someone should have checked with a responsible adult that this is ok... Ross is 17, does that not make him a child?

Yes very true, there are other things to consider though in this case, as has been made apparent in another thread

I think this shows two things, one good and one bad.The good bit being the generosity of the forum and its members.

The bad bit is that if you are a snivelling little snot, pi$$ enough people off, generally dont respect yourself , or your parents, you will get what you want. If Neon had gone out and come back a week later and started a thread ,"whoo hoo, i got me a paper round" , and then someone donated this, then fairplay, he did something to deserve it.

Just my 2p's worth, just off to get me fireproof suit........

Knew the comments wouldn't stay all warm and fuzzy for long!

We've all seen his posts in the past, a lot of which could have been from frustration. I doubt he has much advice/direction or support on his hobby from his parents by the sound of it so he looks to this forum for advice, and I assume like most of us some constructive help; most of the time he gets flamed for stuff he's said and now there's a chance for him to turn a corner.

None of us have actually met this guy, let's be honest, you shouldn't judge someone solely on their forum posts, if that was the case, there's a number of people i could label as t**ts on here myself from the tone of their posts and I'm pretty sure they have good jobs, their own house, car. I doubt any of us were squeaky clean and did no wrong at 17, I certainly wasn't. But it's not always as simple as it first appears.

Don't get me wrong, if this all goes up its arse I'll be the first to say I was wrong, but I'm willing to give the guy a break and I think all of you negative buggers should too!

Now where was MY fireproof suit lol ......

Great news! There are good people out there!

                Well done Ross!

This is how those less fortunate should be treated, with love and generosity.

Look forward to hearing on your progress...as I'm sure we will, ha!

Are you saying that to fly helis you gotta be in a club?
I consider myself to be very safe and have never had the pleasure of seeing anyone else fly other than videos.
Pure passion has tought me everything I need to get off the ground.
As with most hobbies, there are clubs for a reason but let's not forget research and understanding goes a long be to being self sufficient.

Very kind of the donor, good luck neon.

There will always be people with attitudes and comments like those Kroozing.... People get all bent out of shape if you are not in a club which is ridiculous. He is a very good pilot from what i have seen i have to say. I think Tom is just trying to play devils advocate which is fair enough.

I do get why things like that get said, just doesn't help the onlookers who feel that they maybe going about this hobby the wrong way if they do not meet certain peoples criteria.

No offense to anyone, but it's a fair point. I wonder how many of you would reward your own kids after witnessing such behaviour? Has anyone actually been in contact with his parents?

I can't fault the generosity of the forum members, it was in fact the Killer issue that brought me here in the first place. Donating stuff may make you all feel good about yourselves and humanity, but does it really solve any problems?

Itll give him some focus. I won't tell you what I was involved in when I was 17, but lets just say it wasnt on the right side of the law and my parents were purely a necessary evil in my eyes.

A combination of cars, helis and computers have given me the focus to now be quite sucessfull in a fully legal way!

No.... I wasn't saying that at all. My point is that we know very little about Ross and for all we know he may receive this heli and fire it up in the front room!!

I think if people were less judgemental and full of self importance and where more supportive and encouraging then many of the worlds issues would be less of an issue.

The last time I looked out the window its was full of people and not robots so we are all different. I was a right pushy little sod when I was a kid and everyone of my five are great kids but even my 16 year old knows how to wind me up the wrong way and we have many a strongly worded discussion but that doesn't make him a bad person he's just got loads to learn yet in life and is full of those raging hormones and a know it all at the same time. But he'll still help a old lady onto a bus on his way into town.

So maybe we need to be more focused on being better teachers than preachers......
