  • trex 450 tail going wrong way please help

having some trouble with my trex 450 had a crash about a week ago changed two servo on the swash and the boom tail ,but when i put it all back together the heli turns the wrong way, is it any thing to do with the tail servo or have i put it together the wrong way . i did try to do a video but can get it on here the tail blades spin in a clockwise direction and looks to move the right way but i am a beginner and in over my head.............trex 450 003.jpgtrex 450 002.jpg

The tail on that model should turn anticlockwise - you need to make sure the belt is installed according to the manual with just one 90 degree turn in the right direction.

You said that the tail blades are spinning clockwise (I assume that this is the direction they spin as you look at them when they are to your left - ie they are in front of the boom) - they should be spinning anticlockwise with the leading edge (blunt edge) of the tail blades going round and up into the downwash of the main blades. This is nothing to do with the transmitter.

The reason for the incorrect direction is the drive belt is physically installed incorrectly. When you install the belt it needs to be twisted so that the tail blades spin in the correct direction, I suspect you have put the twist the wrong way round which is very easy to do!

So to re-cap, the main blades will spin in a clockwise direction and the tail blades should spin in an anticlockwise direction.

Try that and see what happens but be careful.

        Cheers,
        Simon

As already said, make sure the 90degree twist in the belt is the right way, if you twisted it the wrong way it will change the direction of the tail rotors.
The tail rotation direction won't be anything to do with the servo's.
