  • tail servo set up help

    after a crash last week on my trex 450 i have changed the tail boom , but when i put the tail back together the tail go,s the wrong way in flight . have looked at the tail blades and it look like its going the right way. ie left stick push right tail blades pull to left, can any one tell me wot i am doing wrong ????

    did you re install the servo the same way it came off .

        Care to take some photos or video? Check the tail system is free running. The tail blades closest to the heli center should rotate up towards the main rotor downwash when the main rotor is spun clockwise.

        If it is tail belt drive it should only have 1/4 turn in the belt.

          Have you got the belt twistered in the right direction? When viewed from the right hand side of the heli the blades should turn anti clockwise.

          Position the blades in the12/6oclock and fold the bottom one rearwards,it should move as if it were a boat rudder when you move the stick.

          Ie rudder stick right the blade rearmost point moves right,turning the nose of the heli right.

                If you push left stick and the tail goes left as you say, then the nose is going right.

                Tail control is the wrong way around.

                    Left rudder must push the nose left, not the tail left. You steer a heli by the nose, not the tail. Left rudder steers it around a left corner, not a right one.

                      yes its going the wrong way , ie push left stick to the right the nose gos to the left
