  • Moron's guide to CCPM on DX7 needed please :)

    Hi Guys,
I need someone who owns a DX7 to post a moron’s step by step guide to programming and naming my FIRST set-up for a 600e.

The reason I’m mentioning this is my heli-lessons and set-up fell through this weekend due to rain etc. However I’m desperate to start to learn about my DX7 but I need a great deal of help to understand it. Specifically I think I mentioned somewhere that I did all the electronics and set all the neutral positions for the servo’s etc. However one of the servo’s Pitch/Aileron does not respond or work and is plugged into Aux 2 of my AR7000. I am led to believe I need to switch to CCPM programming and make Aux2 the channel for Pitch Aileron ???
Anyone suitably skilled with a DX7 who can take the time to post help >>>> ?

    Cheers.
    Bubble.

    pitch goes in aux1

As far as CCPM setup goes, you must select 3 servo 120 degree ccpm mode in the power on menu. Then you can follow this guide here:

    http://www.swift-tuning.com/setup_swift.php

scroll down till you find the heading eCCPM setup, it's a JR 9X2 shown but the setup is the same as a DX7

Head over to http://www.helifreaks.com , they have a large amount of videos that are useful for setting up ccpm and much more. Not sure if they have anything relating specifically to the dx7 but worth a look anyway. You'll just need to sign up to access them.

one thing to remember, the key to good ccpm setup is in the mechanics not the radio....90 degree rule applies to everything where possible.

a swash lock/flybar lock is a good idea if you feel the need to go that far altough i have never used one myself. also remember to check for binding in the corners at full and neg pitch before flying.

            cheers

I set up my entire heli using these vids and Ade Law flew it on it's maiden flight

usual things blade tracking and needed to move tail servo in another hole on the servo horn to get the gain correct.. flys mint now

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread.
Something just 'clicked' and suddenly the set-up didn't seem so daunting anymore. I'm now happily setting up my model, binding it, setting the CCPM mixing on the 3 servo's ..... (Damn only AUX1 and not AUX2 had I originally set-it) it's also convinced me to try some other things on my planks.
                  Cheers.
