  • Just Purchased Esky CP Belt to Learn !!!!!

Have I made a good, the right buy ? as a learner.
All the reading in the world is good foundation, but where do i go near Halifax to get some constructive advice and guidence outside the internet in the big bad world, where conversation is king.
I will (i beleive) recieve simulator software with Heli but not sure how good it is, what is best econimical Simulator to buy for me to practice on before i spend £££££££ on repairs. I know this is boring old question, but its new to me.
What parts should i buy in preperation of my early crashes, so i have them to hand ready to repair.

I have also tried logging into 'Chat' but when i put my user name and password in it tells me i its incorrect, what am i doing wrong.

i have one on order due next saturday. ive noticed not many know much about it but what i have read from owners is its a good heli and holds up better than the others like blade cp etc. one thing that strikes me about it is just how smooth and steady the tail is when i view on youtube.

its also the size of a trex and apparently someone put the head of their trex onto their belt cp and said it flew better than the trex.

Well I have one and I can say I do like it.

I have however completly rebuilt it into the Carbon CP edition and also I have ALL the alloy upgrades including bearing blocks etc with a Logitech 2100T and a Hitec 65 on the tail. Its a nice Heli but I would not say a great heli. It can be a bit expensive to repair compared to a T-Rex judging from the parts prices I have seen.

        I run it with a DX7.

A small tip. Make sure that at zero throttle you dont have any more than -1 or -2 degrees pitch as you will get boom strikes from the main blades if you get a hard landing. Usually requiring blades and boom (obviously), main gear and feathering shaft and a main shaft and other bits depending on your luck!

thats good enough for me. nice heli but i would buff the paint off the metal head, boom and skids. i dunno if i could afford the upgrades but glad you got rid of the yellow fins and paddles and tail. i would get rid of the yellow canopy too but thats just my taste in colours. esky and century tend to come out with some bland colours.

btw i thought esky were about being cheap but still good quality.

i have had a belt cp for around a month. i am a complete beginner and can say the training legs are a must. i had one crash in high wind which i shouldnt have been out in but otherwise has been o.k.
simulator that comes with cp dosn`t work as the six channel transmitter is not compatible but for 15 quid you can get the sim and usb dedicated transmitter so no batterys required.
it is fairly stable and parts can be aquired off the net from fast lads or other and be on your door in 2 days so no real need to keep spares. blade cx2 is definitely cheaper to repair though. my crash cost £34.

how much did all the upgrades to carbon cost as i might go that way but a carbon kit is only £130 so thought that might be cheaper way to do it?

To be honest I have not added all the upgrades up. I decided to get all the Alloy stuff (main shaft bearing blocks in alloy etc) as well and those items dont come with the Belt CP Carbon edition. Have a look at Fast Lads. Thats where I bought it all anyway. Oh and Jamie and Andy are very helpful.

i have ordered an extra battery and the sim for under 30 quid delivered from china off ebay. the sim is fms with a dedicated esky transmitter with a usb lead instead of an arial, so you dont need batterys, if you look on ebay under e-sky lots of people do them just need to find best price. i want this as i am really struggling to control heli when i turn it round although i an fly from behind tail.
i dont know about the hand set as i have never flown anything else but works fine for me so i would save your money for spares at this stage.

                        david.

did you go for the 2200 battery? i ordered 2 1800 with mine and wish i got the other one now. just wondered if the extra flight time is noticeable.
