DX7 tx/rx combo. £189 from inwoods. Can't go far wrong with that. http://www.inwoodmodels.co.uk/system/index.html

I've got no idea about your Walkera, but every other radio manufacturer uses the same servo connectors so you should be able to use it.

the BEC is a device that cuts the volts down from the 11.1v lipo to 5 or 6 v olts for the receiver electonics (receiver, gyro, servos). some servos and gyros don't like 6v so it is important to get the right one 5v or 6v.

There is usually a bec built into the motor controller (ESC). Sometimes in lower cost motor controllers the BEC is underspecified for running all the servos and gyro and sometimes it can get hot and give up, then all the servos stop.

A cheap BEC can also be "noisy", and can cause receiver interference (2.4Ghz shouldn't be effected).

While you are considering upgrades for your walkera, keep a thought as to the helicopter, and compare with the price of a heli that is better quality overall. It is not economic to buy too many upgrades for a walkera compared to buying one of the many better helis - like a mini titan or trex 450s for example. A walkera 60 with all the metal upgrades is not as good a heli as these and will have cost more.
for now stick to upgrades that you can fit to another airframe later - the tx/rx is a good start! 2.4Ghz is the way to go with little helis as you can fly here and there without frequency clash worries, and the radio is less effected by internal interference form the motor etc.
