hi guys, i just got my lama v3 today and flew it for the first time. apart from a few crashes from a foot off the ground i have not had any serious crahses. There are 2 problems that i encounted. Firstly around 70% of the time the moter arm that is resposible for the heli to bank left and right freezes up and i have to land and move it with my hand to get it to start working again. Any ideas as to why this happenes. Also the stabilizer bar up top seems to come free at every crash.

You might have a dodgy servo causing the problem with the banking.
I would suggest allowing the stabilizer bar to come off during a crash as it takes energy away and prevents additional damage. My Twister should have a screw holding the flybar in but I've removed it and not had any head damage yet. (Although I've bent the shafts
).
Cheers

thanks the ball links are loose i was going to glue it into plane but will leave it as it is now. Any ideas on why the moter arm is freezing. It is pretty useless just flying the heli up down forward backward and not side to side. Also i hear you can get the heli to hover perfectly well i cant seem to manage that the heli seems to bank to the left when i give it trottle no matter how much trim i set. it does it to the point where it is about to tip onto its side.

very very fast
Hi, guys and gals I am finally flying my lama v3 quite well even though the moter that alows the left and right movent jams each flight so i have to manover it by directing the tail. My questian is that as i fly it outside in calm weather every time i make a semi fast movent the heli instantly crashes to the ground. I thing the stabalizer bar may be touching the rotors or that the rotor blades are hitting each other. why is this happening and how can i make this stop. Secondly i want my lama to go faster with out the rotors hitting each other. I hear there is a mod you can get something about longer shaft and differant rotors that will allow that can someone please direct me in the right direction, I also read somewhere that the servos are only being used 50% it is possible to manover them more so that the heli can go faster. also can someone tell me a good second helicopter.

you can't push them too much ahmir if you go too fast forward it will eventually nose dive it takes full power and full back stick to get out of it if your lucky.
on the trim issue... if the heli drifts left center your trim then shorten the right hand servo arm( right looking from the tail) if it drifts right lengthen it ....one turn one turn at a time and tryit!
same if it drifts forward center the trim and adjust the left servo arm if it moves forward shorten... rearwards lengthen.
to make the controls a bit more responsive move the rod out on the servo arms one hole if there are any> but to be honest if your crashing now i wouldn't try that it makes them very twichy

These are great litte helis to get you in to the hobby.
however they do have limitations, the main things these are best at is training you for basic hovering manuvures not for fast forward flight.
My Lama does the same as yours if you try fast forward flight and are not very very smooth with the controls the blades will strike each other and the heli just drops out of the sky.
i second what Boggie says with a few adjustments here and there to the control linkages you can get it to hands free hover with no trim on the TX.
Oh and the motor that seems to be freezing is called a servo and they are very cheap to replace i suggest you do that as its most frustrating if it wont fly smoothly.
Good LuckNow I know what Orvill the duck was on about!!!!

As a further comment to the above.....
For performance improvements move to the CNC components such as swash plate, this gives a nicer and crisper response.
For times where one rotor is over-torque'ing so you pivot left or right....check the collar on the bottom of the main shaft is secure. I had a case where the grub screw wasn't biting properly and so the inner shaft would occassionally slip and cause me issues.
Lastly....yes these are inddor heli's. I have flown mine outside on very calm days, but even with uprated motors the slightest breeze will have you all over the place. You simply cannot overcome any wind so if a gentle breeze starts heading you into a wall or tree your only chance is drop the throttle and try a v quick landing.*** CX2 with extra Bling *** STATUS
